SuperSport, Stellenbosch Eyeing Kaizer Chiefs Midfielder
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Phathutshedzo Nange, has apparently caught the interest of two clubs.
Due to a series of injuries, Nange has been largely absent from the 2022/2023 Premier Soccer League campaign. His contract is set to expire in June, so it’s heavily expected that Chiefs will not renew it.
Now, per reports, both SuperSport United and Stellenbosch FC are looking to add the 31-year-old to their respective ranks if and when he finds himself out of contract.
“His work rate is held in high regard by the two coaches,” one source divulged to a local media outlet. “Gavin Hunt wants him at SuperSport United, while [Stellenbosch coach] Steve Barker is also interested in him. It’ll all come down to who gives him the better offer.”
Nange previously played for Stellenbosch from 2020 to 2021, scoring four goals in 23 appearances. On the other hand, he may be inclined to join SuperSport, who have had past troubles with strengthening their midfield and defence.
